Texarkana, TX – Texarkana Independent School District is proud to announce the hiring of Gerry Stanford as their new Executive Director of Athletics & Head Football Coach effective Monday, February 27, 2017.
Stanford brings to TISD 18 years of coaching experience. His background includes: Grapevine Faith Christian School Offensive Coordinator/Head Track Coach/Varsity Boys & Girls Fellowship of Christian Athletes Leader (Grapevine,TX); Grapevine High School Quarterback Coach/Boys Track Coach/Fellowship of Christian Athletes Director (Grapevine, TX); L.D. Bell High School Football Coach/History Teacher/Recruiting Coordinator/Academic Coordinator (Hurst, TX); White Oak ISD Athletic Director/Head Football Coach (White Oak, TX); and most recently, Flower Mound Marcus High School Athletic Coordinator/Head Football Coach (Flower Mound, TX).
During his career, he has amassed a 47-22 football coaching overall record along with numerous honors and distinctions.

- District 9-2A Football Coach of the Year (2012, 2013)
- Fellowship of Christian Athletes Heart of a Champion Bowl Coach (2013, 2014);
- Dallas Cowboys/Whataburger Coach of the Week (2015);

(awarded by U.S. Marines Corp and Glazier Football Clinics to high school football coaches who display faithfulness to the mission of their team and exemplify the Marine standard of excellence in developing leaders.) - Tom Landry Award Finalist for Coach of the Year (2015)
(selected by the Greater Dallas Fort Worth Fellowship of Christian Athletes leadership and voting panel who exemplifies the Christian values that defined Tom Landry on and off the field.) - District 6-6A Co-Coach of the Year (2015)

Stanford is a Shreveport, Louisiana native whose father, Jackie Stanford, was a football state championship coach in Louisiana. A graduate of University of North Texas, he is married to Casey and they have two children – Payton Grace (7) and Tate (4).
