- A very tough competitor through a lot of very tough matches last year, we feel like Shea learned a lot and continued to improve her game. She was our District Champion in Singles last Spring and has a tremendous desire to win. We are certainly counting on her to lead the girls’ team this year as continues to improve her ability to hit the ball.
- A finalist in singles last Spring in District, Alex is probably the most gifted ball striker we have on the girls’ team. She was very instrumental in several of our wins last fall as she won many big matches when the outcome was on the line. When she is motivated and into it, she can be very tough to beat.
- Back for her 3rd year on the Varsity, Jenni remains a steady force in our line-up. She had a good Spring last year, winning the District Title with Liz Pulido and we are looking for her experience to come through for us once again this year.
- Over the Summer, this young lady really dedicated herself to improving her game and she has done just that. She has become much more of a steady player and we are so happy with her progress and to see her compete on a regular basis.
- Another one of our 3rd year players on Varsity, this girl continues to make good progress each year. She was mixed doubles champion last Spring with Ray Sandefur and we hope that she continues to love to play and improve.
- Already a solid groundstroker, we are hoping to round out Wynne’s game and watch her develop into a very solid player. Her desire to succeed and compete are good and all she needs is more and more experience. We are excited about her possibilities.
- We feel like Michaela learned so much last year that will help her this year become better and better. She is a tough competitor and one of the best net players we have on the team. When she is playing, there is no doubt that she is playing to win and we feel like this will carry her a long way.
- After a year on Varsity last year, we feel like Aly has made some really good progress in her game over the Summer. She has become even steadier from the baseline and that is always a good thing; she has some more learning to do but has a healthy desire to learn and improve.
- Another one of our Juniors on the team, Cheslie stepped up from a successful year on the JV last Spring and has become a good addition to our team. She really learned how to fight last year and we look forward to seeing her blossom under Varsity competition.
- All this girl’s hard work this Summer paid off in Qualifying and we hope she continues to develop her game and that her attitude stays positive and then there are good things ahead for Mary Claire tennis wise.
