In 2003 a group of concerned citizens, dedicated to enhancing the learning environment for the students and faculty of TISD came together to build a foundation.

The Texarkana Public Schools Foundations, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) non profit organization. A 25 member Board, who represent a cross section of the community served by the Texarkana Independent School District, governs it. All voting members are independent of TISD. District administrators serve as ex-officio Board members.

Goals

Recognize TISD students and positively reinforce their educational activities.

Provide teacher grants for innovative efforts and exemplary teaching.

Help TISD recruit, retain, and recognize teachers and staff.

Build community awareness of the Texarkana Public Schools Foundation.
