The standard benefit package for full time employees consists of paid life insurance, paid long term
disability coverage, partially-funded health insurance and paid personal and local leave days.
The district also offers a variety of optional benefit programs in order for employees to choose
the benefits that best suit the needs of their family.
Life Insurance
The district provides full time employees with life insurance equal to one times their annual salary.
Additional life insurance can be purchased as well as Accidental Death And Dismemberment benefits
if preferred.
Long Term Disability
The district also provides full time employees with long-term disability coverage. This coverage
provides income benefits in the case of a long term illness.
Health Insurance
Texarkana ISD offers health insurance coverage through the statewide
healthcare benefits program called TRS-ActiveCare. Employees have the
option of selecting from three different health benefit plans varying in
coverage with deductibles, co-pays and co-insurance.
Each of the three optional plans are
comprehensive in coverage and include

employees statewide access to over 30,000 network physicians and over 400
