The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards
The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards honor young people in middle and high school grades for outstanding volunteer service to their communities. Emory Scholars Program
Emory Scholar awards span four years of undergraduate study and range from 2/3 tuition to full-tuition, room, board, and fees. American Foreign Service Assosciation Essay Contest
The members of the Foreign Service are like the olive branches in the right talon of the American eagle, advising the president and Secretary of State about foreign relations and carrying out the president's foreign policies. The members of the military service are like the arrows in the eagle's left talon. Although these two groups work together for the national interest of the United States, the Foreign Service is not as well known as the military service. The objective of this contest is to help you and other teenagers better understand how the men and women of the Foreign Service serve the national interests of the United States. The Nelson B. Prairie View A&M USDA/1890 National Scholars Program
In 2006, the USDA and 17 Historically Black Land Grant Universities and Tuskegee University will offer 34 fully paid, 4-year scholarships, use of a computer, summer employment, and employment benefits. This Program was put into place to assist students who either have multiple sclerosis (MS) or have a parent with MS and would like to achieve a higher level of education. Texas Student Housing Scholarship Program
A scholarship program that makes awards available to graduating seniors who are accepted to attend college in Austin, College station, Denton or San Marcos and have not signed off campus housing leases. The McKelvey Foundation Entrepreneurial Scholarships

The First in My Family Scholarship Program, developed in partnership with the Hispanic College Fund, offers scholarships to Hispanic-American students who are the first in their family to attend college and have financial need. Unmet Need Scholarships
Open to families with a combined income of $30,000 or less, this program is intended to supplement financial aid packages that fall more than $1,000 short of students' financial need. The Unmet Need Scholarship program is open to US citizens and permanent residents who are accepted or enrolled as full-time undergraduate students at approved, accredited institutions. The Texas Restaurant Association offers a scholarship dedicated to the education of future restaurateurs in Texas. KFC Colonel’s Scholars
The KFC Colonel’s Scholars Program was created in 2006 and is dedicated to assisting students with financial need who plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree at a public institution within their legal state of residence. DECA students have the opportunity to apply for scholarships that require that the student work for the companies that offer the scholarship. USA Funds – Access to Education
As the nation’s leading education-loan guarantor, USA Funds works to promote access to higher education for all deserving students. For the 2008-2009 academic year USA Funds will award up to $3 million in new, renewable scholarships to students demonstrating financial need. The YouthLaunch Scholarship for Outstanding Service honors high school seniors across Texas who lead and serve in their communities, and inspire their peers to get involved as well. This program is dedicated to assisting students who have proven the ability to do college level work, yet may not be able to obtain financial aid through traditional sources. These true-need-based scholarships of $1000 each are awarded to high school seniors statewide. The scholarship criteria do not include requirements concerning race, sex, or field of study. Louisiana Tech University Music Scholarship
If you are interested in pursuing a music degree, you must audition to be considered for scholarships and admittance into the Department of Music degree programs. The audition process is separate from being admitted to Louisiana Tech. All applicants are encouraged to apply for admission to Louisiana Tech prior to December 1, 2008 to ensure consideration for academic scholarships. Slough Foundation Scholarship
High school seniors can receive up to $5000 per year for up to a total of five years or the completion of a Bachelor degree by applying for this scholarship. Applicants must demonstrate financial need by completing the FAFSA, have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA, application process, and enroll as a full-time student. The Goss-Michael Texas State Scholarship
The Goss-Michael Foundation is extending a scholarship opportunity to all Texas high school graduation seniors who would like to pursue a college education in visual arts. Selection is based upon artistic achievement, scholastic achievement, school and community participation, and leadership. All applicants will submit completed scholarship application form, high school transcript, artist’s statement, essay and a CD of 10 original works. In addition, the recipient will have one piece of art framed and displayed at the Goss-Michael Foundation and will be featured on the Foundation website and monthly newsletter. Janice M Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund
High school students attending a US accredited four-year College or university full-time during the 2009 – 2010 school year are eligible to apply. The students must be US citizens or permanent resident with at least a 2.5GPA. The student must have demonstrated leadership abilities through participating in community service, extra-curricular or other activities. Students will be asked to write an essay about what freedom and justice means to them, Applications are available from Ms. Casteel.

Don’t Mess with Texas Scholarship
This scholarship will recognize the achievements of Texas high school seniors who have taken

“Every Drop Counts” Earth Science Scholarship
Candidates for the “Every Drop Counts” Earth Science scholarship must complete the application, be a resident of Texas, have a 3.0 GPA, and currently have plans to pursue a degree in earth/environmental sciences at an accredited four-year college or university. Ayn Rand’s The Fountainhead Essay Scholarship
Essays written by 11th and 12 grade high school students will be judged on both style and content. Judges will look for writing that is clear, articulate and logically organized. Winning essays must demonstrate an outstanding grasp of the philosophic and psychological meaning of The Fountainhead. Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Miller and Bowie Counties
Single parents of Miller and Bowie Counties may apply for up to a $750 scholarship to assist in paying for approved expenses such as tuition, books, rent or mortgage, car repairs, utility companies and childcare.
