Recording Artist Cymia to Perform during Texas Middle School - Not In My School - Pep Rally

Texarkana, TX – Texas Middle School (TMS) students will get to enjoy hearing from music powerhouse, Cymia, during their Thursday, November 15 “Not In My School” Pep Rally. Additional performances will be from iKid Kay and DJ Wild West.

The pep rally, which begins at 1:30 p.m. in the TMS Gym, will focus on the importance of being socially responsible as a student and maintaining adherence to a series of “Not In My School” campaign rules which include: No Disrespect (Value 1 Another); No Bullying (Can’t We All Just Get Along?); No Fighting (Peace, Love & TMS); No Cheating (Great Minds Think for Themselves); No Excuses (Own It – Responsibility); No Slackers (Go The Distance); No Vandalism (Protect this House); No Drugs (I<3 Me); No Sagging (Dress 4 Success).

At just 13 years old, Cymia has earned a place among the hit-making family of Cash Money Records which includes superstars Drake, Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne. She is currently recording her highly anticipated smash debut album which boasts fun, catchy hooks and up tempo beats that will have every kid on their feet.

Cymia’s talent and drive have her not only signing but acting, dancing and modeling. Film appearances include “Dear Diary,” “Phased,” “Bolden!” and “Roadhouse 2: Last Call.” She is an author of two children’s books which will debut from Simon & Schuster in 2013 - “You Can’t Bully Me” and “Selfless” - both inspired by her own experiences with emotional issues many children face. If that wasn’t impressive enough, she is designing a clothing, luggage and lip gloss line.

Additionally, the City of Texarkana, Texas will issue a Mayoral Proclamation declaring November 15 as “Not In My School & Community Day” encouraging all teachers, students and community leaders to continue promoting the awareness of the resounding effects drugs and bullying can have in our community.
