TASSP Chooses THS Seniors for Top State Awards

Texarkana, TX – Heather Lanier and Kelly Burnett, Texas High School seniors, have been selected by the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals (TASSP) for two of their top state awards.

Lanier was one of twenty students in the state named as a member of the TASSP All-State Academic Excellence Team. This prestigious award was designed to recognize Texas high school seniors for their outstanding academic achievements and the rewards of superior scholarship. She is the daughter of Vicky Lanier.

Burnett was one of five students in the state selected for the TASSP Teens Serving Texas Award. This prestigious award was designed to recognize Texas high school seniors who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of community service, leadership and personal accomplishments. She is the daughter of Scottie and Bob Burnett.

Both will be awarded a $500 scholarship and formally recognized during the TASSP Summer Workshop in Austin, Texas on June 13, 2013.
