Get Back in School by Starting Work on your GED this Fall

Texarkana, TX – For those interested in completing their General Education Development (GED) credential, now is the time to get back in school. The Bowie-Cass Adult Education Cooperative can help you springboard into new opportunities and boost your earning potential through achieving your GED.

Fall GED Orientation will be held Tuesday and Wednesday, August 27 & 28 from 8:00 a.m. - Noon and 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. Attendance for both days of the orientation is required.

Orientations will be held in the TISD Academic Learning Center, 3201 Lincoln Avenue, and will cover all requirements and expectations of the GED program as well as career planning and transitioning to college/workforce. Through a new partnership with Texarkana College, you can also enroll in the GED program while earning a college certificate.

Classes are self-paced, flexible and free. Year-round day classes are held Monday thru Friday from 8:00 a.m. – Noon with year-round evening classes being held from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday thru Thursday. Distance learning and online classes are also available.

The 2002 GED Testing Series will be replaced beginning January 2014. Incomplete or insufficient GED scores from the 2002 series will no longer be valid after December 31, 2013. For those who have already been testing, it is important that you test as soon as possible in order to not lose your current scores. You may test up to nine times prior to December 3, 2013.

Other courses offered through the Bowie-Cass Adult Education Cooperative are English as a Second Language (ESL), Basic Skills Remediation, ASVAB Review and a variety of other services.
