Comedy Misidentifications and Farce - A Perfect Combination for Tiger Theatre Company's Production of The Importance of Being Earnest
Texarkana, TX – The Importance of Being Earnest is a tour de force of comedy, misidentifications and farce that the Texas High School Tiger Theatre Company will present as their season opener beginning September 26.
Performances will be Thursday, September 26 & Saturday, September 28 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, September 29 at 2:00 p.m. Shows will be in the John Thomas Theatre of the Sullivan Performing Arts Center, 3941 Summerhill Road.
Written by Oscar Wilde, The Importance of Being Earnest features friends, Algernon and Jack, who have each invented an imaginary person as an excuse of getting out of engagements. Jack’s persona is Earnest, a brother with a wild past. The two conspire to woo the ladies that they love, and through a series of happenstances, must gently deceive to get what they want. The end result is a play of incomparable quality, chock full of witticisms that are highly quotable. Wilde manages to make the characters say exactly what they would say in each situation, true to their persona.
Tickets will be available for purchase at the door and are $7 Adults/ $5 Students. Children under 7 are FREE. TISD employees receive free admission with badge.
