Texas High School Social Studies Team Earns Second Place in UIL State Virtual Challenge Meet #2
Texarkana, TX – The Texas High School UIL Social Studies Academic Team took 2nd Place in District 5A and 5th Place Overall during the State Virtual Challenge Meet #2 held the week of November 10. An estimated 4,600 competitors entered in the meet.
The State Virtual Challenge Meet brings together schools from across Texas to compete in contests for Accounting, Calculator, Computer Science, Current Events, Literary Criticism, Mathematics, Number Sense, Science, Social Studies and Spelling.
Final student and team placement in the Social Studies event are as follows:
INDIVIDUAL AWARDS:
Alex Markham: 1st Place 5A; 3rd Place Overall; 1st Place 11th Grade Overall.
Haley Rogers: 5th Place 5A; 13th Place Overall; 8th Place 12th Grade Overall.
Madison Maynard: 16th Place 5A; 16th Place 11th Grade Overall.
Jay Williamson: 16 Place 9th Grade Overall.
TEAM AWARDS:
