Texas High School UIL Academic Teams Earn Individual and Team Medals during State Virtual Challenge Meet
Texarkana, TX – Texas High School UIL Academic Team recently participated in the State Virtual Challenge Meet #3 earning fourteen individual and two team medals.
The State Virtual Challenge Meet brought together 5,000 students representing schools from across Texas to compete in contests for Accounting, Calculator, Computer Science, Current Events, Literary Criticism, Mathematics, Number Sense, Science, Social Studies and Spelling.
Placement, subject and coaching information is as follows:
INDIVIDUAL AWARDS:
Computer Science: Carson Dial – 19th Place (5A); Niki Caswell – 20th Place (5A). Coached by Julie McBay.
Current Events: David Mitchell – 12th Place (11th Grade) and 16th Place (5A). Coached by Amy Kemp.
Literary Criticism: Savannah Pritchard – 10th Place (5A). Coached by Anne Fruge.
Science: Alex Markham – 13th Place (5A); Brett Minor – 16th Place (5A). Coached by Bob Harris.
Social Studies: Alex Markham – 4th Place (5A), 17th Place – (Overall) and 6th Place (11th Grade Overall); Haley Rogers – 25th Place (5A), 13th Place – (Overall) and 13th Place (12th Grade Overall); Jay Williamson – 13th Place (9th Grade Overall). Coached by Chuck Zach.
TEAM AWARDS:
