TISD Honors Business Partners and Volunteers during Annual Recognition Dinner

Texarkana, TX – Texarkana Independent School District honored area Partners in Education and Volunteers in Public Schools during their annual recognition dinner on April 30.

Awards were presented as follows:

Texas Association of Partners In Education State Award for Partnership Program – Volunteer Gold Award presented to Golden Circle Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church – Moores Lane.

Volunteers of Distinction “Guiding Star” Awards presented to Mystee Bennett (Spring Lake Park Elementary), Kim Burt (Texas Middle School), Melissa Dean (Nash Elementary), Benjamin Dennis (Dunbar Intermediate Center), Mary Galloway (OPTIONS Academic Alternative High School), Charles Iverson (Theron Jones Early Literacy Center), Katy Lingle (Morriss Elementary), Linda Mabry (Wake Village Elementary), Amy McClellan (Westlawn Elementary), Roger Waldrep (Texas High School) and Jeanette Winters (Highland Park Elementary).

Partner of the Year Awards presented to Action Rental (Small Business/Group), TEXAR Federal Credit Union (Medium Business/Group) and Red River Federal Credit Union (Large Business/Group).

Community Partnership Award presented to Hopewell Temple CME Church.

Volunteers In Public Schools Awards presented to Theron Jones Early Literacy Center (Team I), Morriss Elementary (Team II) and Texas High School (Team III).

Board of Trustees/Superintendent Award presented to Dunbar Intermediate Center DADS Program.

The Partners In Education (PIE) program and Volunteers In Public Schools program enriches and maximizes the educational experiences of students and staff by developing cooperative partnerships with businesses, parents and community members. The efforts of one person, one company or one organization can change the life of a student and make a dynamic difference in a program or a school.
