Texas High School UIL Social Studies Team Takes Division Win; Student Members Bring Home Thirteen Medals

Texarkana, TX – During the recent UIL Academic Meet at Hallsville High School on February 14, the Texas High School Social Studies team brought home a First Place Division win. Overall, student members earned 13 medals in five categories.

INDIVIDUAL AWARDS:

Current Issues & Events: David Mitchell – 3rd Place. Coached by Chad Evans.

Informative Speaking: Robin Cooper – 2nd Place. Coached by Amy Kemp.

Persuasive Speaking: Jillian Cheney – 2nd Place; Natalie Portwood – 4th Place. Coached by Amy Kemp.

Ready Writing: Jillian Cheney – 5th Place; Haley Rogers – 6th Place. Coached by Holly Mooneyham.

Social Studies: Alex Markham – 1st Place; Haley Rogers – 3rd Place; Madison Maynard – 6th Place. Coached by Chuck Zach.
