Robot Rebels from Morriss Elementary School Moving on to North Texas First Lego League Championship Tournament

Texarkana, TX – During the First Lego League Super Qualifier on January 16 at Grand Saline High School, the Robot Rebels from Martha and Josh Morriss Mathematics & Engineering Elementary School took top awards. Not only did they receive the Judges Award but also qualified as one of seven teams to move on to the North Texas Championship Tournament on February 6 at Parish Episcopal in Dallas, TX.

Thirty-eight teams, covering grades 4-8, competed in the Trash Trek Challenge. This year’s challenge explored the fascinating word of trash. From collection, to sorting, to smart production and reuse, students found out that there is more to trash than meets the eye.

The Robot Rebels received the Judges Award for their unique team efforts that were recognizable and set them apart in a noteworthy way.

The team is coached by teachers, Tammy Danley and Erin Davis.
