Student Members of Texas High School Publications Department Earn Eleven Gold Circle Awards from CSPA
Texarkana, TX – Student members of the Texas High School Publications Department earned eleven Gold Circle Awards from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA) during their 33rd Gold Circle Awards program.
For yearbooks and digital media categories, this year attracted 4,232 entries produced by students at colleges, universities and secondary schools throughout the United States. Entry categories included those for newspapers, magazines, yearbooks and for digital (online) media, in its annual competition for individual achievement by student writers, editors, designers and photographers.
Judges cited a total of 506 winners for either First, Second or Third Place or for Certificates of Merit for those deemed worthy of honorable mention in a category. Awards reflect entries produced between October 11, 2014 through October 13, 2015.
Student awards earned are:

Alex O’Gorman – First Place in Digital Media Hand-Drawn Art/Illustration for “Editorial TISD Bond Issue;”
Madison Maynard, Colleen Russell & Elizabeth Tullis – Second Place in Yearbook Index for Tiger Yearbook;
Daylon O’Neal – Third Place in Digital Media Video News Pack for “Religion in Curriculum;”
Jasmine Anderson – Certificate of Merit in Yearbook Organizations for “Pick Your Strategy;”
Kelsi Brinkmeyer – Certificate of Merit in Yearbook Feature Photo for “Broken Tradition;”
Leah Crenshaw – Certificate of Merit in Digital Media Off-Campus Personal Opinion for “My Invisible Uncle;”
Molly Crouch – Certificate of Merit in Digital Media Breaking News for “Same Sex Marriage Now Legal;”
Madeline Hunley & Madison Maynard – Certificate of Merit in Yearbook Student Life Feature Writing for “We’re Still Here;”
