Texas High School Students Earn Placement & Ratings at State Foreign Language Competition

Texarkana, TX – Several Texas High School students earned state placement and ratings during the Arkansas State Foreign Language competition which was held on May 4 at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, AR. Students qualified for the state competition by scoring a 90% or higher at the regional contest.

Students recognized were:

Yuliza Cruz: Proficient Placement for French II Extemporaneous Reading and Spanish Heritage Vocabulary.

Lindsey Gore: 2nd Place French Culture Bowl; 4th Place Advanced French Vocabulary; Advanced Placement for Extemporaneous Reading.

Vernicia Griffie: Distinguished Placement for Advanced French Poetry Recitation; Advanced Placement for Extemporaneous Reading; Honorable Mention Advanced French Vocabulary.

Kyerra Harfield: 5th Place Distinguished Placement for French III Poetry Recitation; Honorable Mention French III Vocabulary.
