Four Texas High School Students Named to State Top Ten for ATPI Imagemaker Team

Texarkana, TX – Rachel Lewis, Kayleigh Moreland, Madeline Parish and Sara Vaughn, members of the Texas High School Commercial Photography program, have been selected as four of the top ten students in the state of Texas to be chosen for the Association of Texas Photography Instructors (ATPI) Texas Imagemaker Team.

For this prestigious award, ATPI selects the top ten student photographers in the state based on awards received in state, national and international photo contests during the school year.

During the past year, Lewis was awarded Tops in Texas for Page One Design, Tops in Texas for Photo Portfolio, First Place for Page One Design, First Place for Portrait, First Place for Photo Portfolio, Second Place for Page One Design, Third Place for Sports Action Photo, Honorable Mention for Sports Action and Honorable Mention for Sports Feature Photo by the Interscholastic League Press Conference; Best of Show for School Portfolio, Third Place in Advanced Portfolio/Art, Third Place in Cropped Photo, Honorable Mention in Advanced Sports Action and Honorable Mention in Advanced Time Exposure by the Association of Texas Photography Instructors; First Place in Sports Sidelines from the Jostens Photo Contest; Honorable Mention in Photojournalism and Honorable Mention in Sports during the Third Floor Society Texas High School Shoot-Out.

Moreland’s awards included: Best of Show in Beginner Work, Best of Show in School Portfolio, two First Place awards in Beginner Portfolio, Third Place in Beginner Sports Action, Honorable Mention in Beginning Animal, Honorable Mention in Beginning Fashion, Honorable Mention in Beginning Nature and Honorable Mention in Time Exposure by the Association of Texas Photography Instructors; Second Place in Class Spread by the Interscholastic League Press Conference; Honorable Mention in Photojournalism and Honorable Mention in Industrial during the Third Floor Society Texas High School Shoot-Out.

Parish was awarded Tops in Texas in Sports Action Photo, First Place in Sports Action Photo and Second Place in Online Multimedia Package by the Interscholastic League Press Conference; First Place in Beginning News Video, Second Place in Beginning Animal and Honorable Mention in Beginning Animal by the Association of Texas Photography Instructors; Second Place in Nature and Honorable Mention in Industrial during the Third Floor Society Texas High School Shoot-Out.

Vaughn’s awards included: Best of Show in School Portfolio, First Place in Advanced News Video, First Place in Advanced Portfolio/Photojournalism and Second Place in Advanced News Video by the Association of Texas Photography Instructors; Certificate of Merit in Digital Media Video Feature Package by Columbia Scholastic Press Association; Second Place in Sports and Second Place in Student Life in Josten’s Photo Contest; Third Place in Portrait, Honorable Mention in Photojournalism and Honorable Mention in Sports during the Third Floor Society Texas High School Shoot-Out.
