Texas High School Seniors Earn Top Awards during Texas Thespian Festival; All Advance to National Competition in Nebraska

Texarkana, TX – Texas High School Tiger Theatre Company students participated in the Texas Thespian Festival on December 1-3 in Dallas, TX with four students earning top ratings. 


Bree Barnett, Elicia Bilyeu and Grace Hickey received a Superior rating in Monologue while Madison Sutton earned a Superior rating in Stage Management. All are now qualified to compete at the International Thespian Festival in Lincoln, NE during the summer of 2017.

Additionally, Sutton was one of 48 students honored with a Thespian Technical Scholarship for her work as a stage manager and as a thespian.

The Texas Thespian Festival is a state-wide festival, open to any active Texas Thespian Troupe. Considered one of the biggest theatre festivals in the United States, the Texas Thespian Festival 2015 had over 6,000 students attend for three full days of educational theatre workshops, performances, auditions and professional guest instructors. There are over 500 troupes throughout Texas focusing on promoting excellence in middle school and high school theatre departments.
