Texas High School Students Offer Environmental Expo Event for the Public

Texarkana, TX – Students in the Texas High School AP Environmental Science class have pulled their resources together to host the 1st Annual Environmental Expo. The event will be held on Tuesday, April 2 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the THS Math & Science Center, 4001 Summerhill Road.

“By showcasing sustainable living all under one roof, this event allows students to see what they are studying in class and how it applies to the real world,” commented Kelly Rowland, Science Teacher. “After much discussion with students, they elected to work on and host an environmental expo for the community to showcase eco-minded area businesses. Many times businesses are in the public eye for the negative aspects of what they have done environmentally, our Environmental Expo will allow the community to see what area companies are doing to protect the environment and conserve resources.”

The Texas High School Environmental Expo focuses on two aspects:
*Area businesses that directly impact consumer consumption through products and/or services and how those can be reduced;

*Area industry/local government and what they are doing to reduce consumption of resources and protection of the environment in the Texarkana area.

The event will feature 40+ vendors and is open to the public. For more information, contact: Kelly Rowland, 903.794.3891 ext. 2220.
