Madison Sutton, THS Senior, One of 16 Chosen for International Thespian Festival Tech Crew

Texarkana, TX – Madison Sutton, Texas High School senior and member of the Tiger Theatre Company, has been selected for one of the coveted tech positions at the International Thespian Festival produced by the Educational Theatre Association.

For her audition, Sutton was one of 100 students who submitted her theatrical resume, along with a video detailing why she wanted to be a member of the national honor crew, what was important to her in terms of theatre/stage production, what she felt she could gain from and give to the production and why she has chosen to be a thespian.

As part of the 2017 International Thespian Festival crew of 16, Sutton will work alongside prominent musical theatre writers, Broadway actors and professional musicians to create a special cabaret-style show on the Festival main stage featuring some of the industry’s biggest names and finest talent. The 2017 national cast opening show, We Tell the Story, celebrates the works of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. The event will be held at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, NE on June 19-24.

Sutton is the daughter of Chris Sutton. She began her love for theatre in elementary and throughout the years was involved in community theatre and school productions. Going into her sophomore year of high school, Sutton fell in love with technical theatre. She has been involved with stage management for at least 13 productions since her junior year.

She plans to study Stage Management in college and upon graduating be part of touring shows and teaching theatre at the collegiate level.
