TISD Board Member, Scott Bruner, Tenders Resignation Effective May 2013
Texarkana, TX – With 11 years of dedication to Texarkana Independent School District, Board Member Scott Bruner has announced that he will resign effective May 2013.
Bruner represents At Large – District 7 and was first elected to the TISD Board of Trustees in 2002. He was re-elected in 2005, 2008 and 2011. His current term expires May 2014. During his tenure, he served as Board President for four years.
“It has been a great decade for TISD,” he shared. “We built a world class K-16 STEM program in collaboration with TAMU-T and enhanced the opportunities for our socio economically disadvantaged students through the development of the Tiger Bookmobile and the Kids At Hope program. Our student enrollment has increased from 5,000 to 7,100, we have improved our physical plant and we have increased the academic rigor of our curriculum.”
