Farmer's Market – Bringing the farm to the table. Your fieldtrip to the farmers market can be a perfect way to introduce your family to new foods while learning where our food comes from.
1. Plan Ahead - Make a list of what you need! 2. Try something new - Challenge yourself to try a new food every month! 3. Talk to the local farmers - Show interest and ask them for tips on certain foods! 4. Follow the MyPlate Method - According to the USDA, half of your plate should be fruits and vegetables and the remainder should be whole grains and lean protein. 5. Make a farm-to-table meal - Use a medley of what you have gathered and create a recipe for your family to enjoy!
