Morriss Elementary School Invention and Robotics Teams Take Home Top Honors at Texas Computer Education Association Area Competition

With over 75 teams from North East Texas participating, Morriss Elementary had thirty-one students representing eight teams during this year’s competition.

The TCEA LEGO Mindstorms Robotics Challenge 2010 theme of “Some Assembly Required” was designed around the concept of factory assembly and automation. Student teams were asked to work for a mock company known as TCEA Widgets Incorporated that designs computer-based Widgets used to teach computer literacy across the state. Teams were then asked to set up a manufacturing line for a new Widget, the "Widget 3000," by designing a robot that assists in one stage of the production of this device.
