Alternative Certification is another route to certification that allows a degreed individual to obtain teacher certification. For more information, and for a list of programs available, see the ACP link above.

To be eligible for hire as a teacher, you must be enrolled or enrolling in an ACP and be eligible for a state certification or permit or local certification (if applicable) on or before the first day of employment. Speak with your certification program representative or the TISD Human Resources Department for more information.
