Technology Websites

Below is a list of technology tools easily available for anyone. Whether a great learning website to reinforce skills being developed, text to speech apps to ease reading tasks or a tool to increase productivity, these resources are a great starting place to investigate the importance of technology for students, with or without disabilities. Please remember, while many students would benefit from these tools, the school district is not providing this information in a way to imply that your child must have these tools to be successful.

Learning Ally Resources
Students identified with dyslexia in TISD will automatically be given a Learning Ally account. Parents will receive a letter giving the username and password to access the Learning Ally account. Free software (Link) is available to access books downloaded from Learning Ally. This software is available to download on district provided tablets, but must be downloaded by a campus learning technology coach.

Other Helpful Tools
Read&Write for Google is a super tool to use with the student's tablet or other device. It is a Chrome extension that can be loaded on the tablet. For 30 days your child will have access to all features, and after that a limited number of features remain available, including the text to speech feature! Subscriptions for all features are $100/year.
