Joe Nolen, Texas High Teacher, Selected as Rhinehart Memorial Lecture Recipient for The Arkansas Society of Radiologic Technologists

Texarkana, TX - Joe Nolen was selected as the Rhinehart Memorial Lecture recipient at the 71st Annual Meeting of the Arkansas Society of Radiologic Technologists (ArSRT), on April 8, 2022.

The Rhinehart Memorial Lecture is named after Dr. Darmon A. Rhinehart, a physician, specializing in Roentgenology. He served as President of The State Medical Society, Chairman of the Southern Medical Association, and he also served in the House of Delegates of the American Medical Association. The Arkansas Radiological Society set up a memorial in his name which is presented to the American Society of Radiologic Technologists each year. The Rhinehart Memorial Lecture is the highest honor that the ArSRT awards.

Nolen began his career in radiology in 1987, at the University Hospital in Little Rock, AR. and Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana. He then served as Associate Professor and Clinical Coordinator at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Southwest campus in Texarkana, where he taught radiology courses. In 2014, Nolen joined Texarkana ISD, teaching numerous Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses within the Health Science Program of Study at Texas High School, including Anatomy and Physiology, Pharmacy Technician, Pharmacology and Medical Terminology.
