Teacher Qualifications and Salary

• Must hold a bachelors degree; teacher certification is not required
• First-year teachers: Average salary is $73,000
• 1-3 years experience: Average salary is $75,000
• 3+ years experience: $77,000-$92,000
• Teachers with more than 3 years of experience may negotiate a higher salary by demonstrating outcomes and data supporting the request

Support Staff and Specialized Roles

• Elective Teachers: ~$63,000 (priority given to core content teachers)
• Paraprofessionals: Assigned only in Pre-K or Special Education; starting salary $35,000; high school diploma required
• Learning Coaches: Current paraprofessionals or others with an associate degree can apply; starting salary $55,000

• Core content teachers are treated as specialists, reflecting expertise and impact on student learning, which results in higher salaries

Substitutes and Apprentices

• No substitute teachers are used
• Teacher apprentices serve in classrooms as needed; starting salary $63,000; bachelor's degree required; no prior experience needed
• Apprentices train alongside classroom teachers to ensure students never miss instructional time.

• All IEP plans are followed and supported
• Partner campuses may use the Take Flight Curriculum for reading and special education support
• Students with behavioral challenge continue learning through structured alternative plans.

• Teachers are respected; disrespect towards teachers is not tolerated
• Bullying is never permitted
• Students are held accountable, but all have access to learning, no student misses instructional time due to behavior
• High expectations and consistent accountability are core to the culture

• Campus staff includes office personnel, a certified counselor, and a copy manager
• Teachers serve as their own interventionists; no dedicated interventionist positions

How to apply

• Third Future representatives will be on-site for three days, holding office hours for interested staff
• A Google form link will be sent to interested staff and will remain open for 72 hours
• Third Future and TISD will determine the number of staff who may transition

Selection Process

1. Unannounced 10-minute classroom observation assessing knowledge, classroom management, and presence
2. Round 2 interview for those meeting the criteria
3. TISD staff are given priority before outside applications are interviewed

• Third Future Schools have an approved TIA plan
• Teachers currently in the TIA process can continue; data collection and recognitions are maintained

• Staff receive 9 PTO days; no docked days
• Punctuality and effective time management are expected
• All teachers and Learning Coaches receive consistent, real-time coaching feedback
• Accountability is integral; staff are held to clearly defined outcomes, supported to succeed, and removed if expectations are not met
• Third Future emphasized high performance paired with strong support, accountability without support is avoided

• Staff leave transfers from TISD to Third Future
• Local leave does not transfer
• Third Future has partnerships with 12 other districts in Louisiana, Colorado, and Texas
