Texarkana ISD Celebrates U.S. News & World Report Ranking for Morriss Elementary

Texarkana ISD is proud to announce that Martha and Josh Morriss Mathematics & Engineering Elementary has earned top distinctions in the 2026 U.S. News & World Report Best Schools rankings.

Morriss continues to shine among the state’s elite, ranking among the Best Elementary Schools in Texas. Many of the schools ranked higher are gifted-and-talented academies located in major metropolitan areas, making Morriss’s continued excellence all the more impressive. Most notably, Morriss ranks #3 in the state for Reading performance, a significant academic achievement that reflects the campus’s strong focus on literacy and instructional excellence.

Morriss Elementary is now eligible to display the official U.S. News “Best Schools” badge, further validating its accomplishments in the statewide landscape.

Kindergarten enrollment for the 2025–2026 school year begins November 1. Applications will be available online at www.txkisd.net.
